What Our Clients Say (And Why It Matters to Us)

A look at the honest feedback that shapes how we work — and the stories behind the reviews.

There's a particular kind of quiet that settles over the salon at the end of a good day. The chairs are empty, the mirrors are wiped clean, and someone reads out a message that just came through: a client saying they cried a little when they saw their new colour, in the best possible way. Those moments are why we do this.

We get asked fairly often whether reviews really matter to a small salon. They do — and not for the reasons you might think.

More than a star rating

A five-star review is lovely, of course. But the words underneath are where the real value lives. When someone tells us exactly what made their visit good, they hand us a small map of what's working. We read every one, and we talk about them together.

Some of the feedback we treasure most isn't glowing at all — it's thoughtful. A client who mentions the wait felt longer than expected, or that they'd have liked more explanation about aftercare, is doing us a genuine favour. We'd always rather hear it than have someone quietly drift away.

The stories behind the stars

Over the years, a few themes keep coming up in what people tell us:

One message we still think about came from a woman who'd avoided salons for years after a bad experience elsewhere. She booked a consultation, sat down nervously, and later wrote that she'd finally found somewhere she wasn't afraid to go. That's worth more than any marketing we could ever pay for.

How your words shape our work

We use feedback in very practical ways. If several people mention loving a particular stylist's technique, we make sure that knowledge gets shared across the team. If someone flags that booking felt fiddly, we look at fixing it. Nothing gets filed away and forgotten.

We'd also gently ask this: if you've had a visit you enjoyed, do leave us a note. It takes two minutes, it genuinely helps a small independent business, and it might be the reason someone nervous finally walks through our door.

Come and write your own story

Every review started as an ordinary appointment that turned into something a little better than expected. We'd love the chance to look after you next — book in whenever suits, and let's see what we can create together.
